ABSTRACT

'Sentiment Analysis on Online Education during Covid Pandemic' is the title of this research. This is the most common method for determining and classifying people's view on any services or products. It is the process to determine if a specific piece of information is positive, negative, or neutral. During COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, educational institutions close, resulting in online schooling. The impact of online education is explored in this research by studying people's reactions to it. Such feedbacks are collected and analyzed by using Lexicon Approach includes (Text Blob, Vader Analysis, and Senti Word Net) to get a better-analyzed result. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 associated Mucormycosis (CAM) is a serious condition in India considering its unprecedented surge due to COVID-19 and associated high morbidity and mortality. Diabetes and widespread usage of steroids in a background of COVID-19 appear to increase the risk of CAM exponentially. Management includes control of the underlying disease or risk factor, strict glycemic control, surgical debridement of necrotic infected tissue, and specific antifungal therapy. First-line antifungal treatment consists of intravenous liposomal Amphotericin-B (LAB) or deoxycholate Amphotericin-B (AMB) and second-line antifungals are intravenous (IV) or oral Posaconazole (POS) which can also be used as salvage therapy. This study is conducted to observe the drug utilization pattern in CAM patients in tertiary care hospital in South India. A prospective, observational study of 55 patients admitted with CAM are studied in terms of drug usage. POS (98.2%) is the most used drug followed by intravenous AMB (49.1%). POS-Oral are used in 83.6 %, POS-IV in 49.1% and AMB-retrobulbar is used in 12.7% of the patents and average doses are within recommended limits. Anti-bacterial and other antifungal are used in 12.7% and 1.8% of the patients respectively, and 34.5% underwent debridement surgery. Though LAB is the recommended 1st line treatment, AMB and POS are used as a reasonably accepted alternative. Guidelines and recommendations should consider cost, compliance (availability ot oral formulations), safety profile, and accessibility aspects which suit the needs of Low-and middle-income countries (LMIC) especially during an unprecedented event like COVID-19 and CAM. ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has left severe impact on livelihood, security and health of informal sector workers, especially domestic workers, majority of whom are women. Being least organised and lacking institutional support, domestic workers are extremely vulnerable to exploitation and human rights violations, and the pandemic has aggravated the situation. Telephonic interviews were conducted with 260 domestic workers from three cities, namely Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi with focus on working conditions, livelihood and household dynamics, health scenario and state support during the pandemic. The data was substantiated with qualitative inputs from in-depth interviews conducted with 12 domestic workers across the cities. In the results, widespread job loss is reported among domestic workers during March?June 2020 along with drastically reduced income and increased workload. About 57% domestic workers reported stigma and discrimination at workplace, and 40% worked without any safety measures. Incidence of domestic violence at home, increased work burden at home, issues in access to health care, etc., were reported. The study findings point out the urgent need to have a national-level policy and state support specifically targeting women domestic workers, without which the situation of poverty, health hazards and social exclusion will continue to exist.JEL Code: J4, J46

ABSTRACT

The pandemic of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV2) infections was announced by the World Health Organization earlier in 2020 and the same has become a serious public health issue throughout the world. This virus stirred up and disturbed the lives of the world. Technological improvement has metamorphosed traditional brick-mortar classrooms into electronic virtual teaching-learning systems. The combination of an unprecedented growth in smart phone and tablet usage during the COVID-19 pandemic and resultant lockdowns have created a gulf between the teachers and the learners and has facilitated a move towards application-based E-Learning (EL) as a dominating form of Virtual Learning Experience (VLE). The scope of the study is limited to the gratification level towards e-learning and perceptions towards VLE of undergraduate students of Mumbai Metro region. The Primary data was collected from 308 undergraduate students through a systematic convenient random sampling method. When the data was passed through descriptive Statistics and inferences analysis, an undeniable fact was thrown light that the e-learning has paved a way for innovative learning experience for better understanding and self-actualized knowledge of the subjects. There was a significant difference in perceptions of learners towards VLE. Further, it is also inferred that there is no significant correlation between gender and e-learning. The findings would be valuable for Virtual Learning Experience to build up an open innovation policy to further shape the field of scientific knowledge for the successful working of the education under conditions of absolute vulnerability. The study concludes with suggestions, recommendations and future research. © 2021. Academy of Strategic Management Journal. All Rights Reserved.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 has stressed the healthcare system in ways our society has not seen before. Less visibly, elderly patients and their caregivers have been stressed as well, both by the virus and by the public health measures required to slow its spread. After months of isolating, patients with dementia and their caregivers are worried about reentering a society with different rules and expectations. Although an extremely complex topic, the re-entry of individuals with cognitive impairment back into society is critical for both the wellbeing of the person as well as the caregiver. Successful re-entry into society will vary based on a person's interests and baseline cognition, however, the ability to participate in activities and events that previously provided joy and stimulation is the first step. This paper, written by practicing geriatricians and palliative clinicians, offers some concrete counseling strategies and tips for caregivers to help navigate re-entry into society with their loved ones.
